On February 18, 2007 the History Channel
aired an episode of Modern Marvels entitled "Star Trek
Tech" which featured a segment about the latest cloaking work
In October 2006 the cloaking work was covered on The Today
Show by correspondent Michelle Kosinski. The segment featured interviews
with David Smith, Steven Cummer, and David Schurig. Read the corresponding

Metamaterial cloaking was chosen as one of the Top Ten Breakthroughs
of the Year for 2006 by the editors of Science Magazine,
one of the top 6 physics stories by Discover Magazine, and
one of the top emerging technologies by PC Magazine.
In January 2008, colleague Steven Cummer of Duke University
that published plans for an acoustic cloak. This work was published
in Physical
Review Letters and reported in The
Economist.
