Munition Impact Detection for Warfighter Training

The U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) bears primary responsibility for providing the most realistic training and testing solutions not only for the Army, but all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense.

As part of Live Fire Training (LFX), it became desirable to develop a stand-off hit sensor that could detect hit locations of, and discriminate between, a variety of impacting munitions.  PEO STRI turned to SensorMetrix to develop and demonstrate this capability.
The prototype system was successfully demonstrated at an Army range.
Patent pending.
